Yes. We pay referral fees to Texas attorneys in full compliance with Rule 1.04 of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. The fee division is set out in a written agreement, and your client consents in writing before the referral is made. We prepare the paperwork, so the process is simple for you and transparent for your client.
Refer with confidence. Your client gets an experienced, well-resourced injury team, and you get a partner who keeps you informed and honors every referral agreement.
At Mokaram Injury Lawyers, we welcome referrals from fellow attorneys. Whether your practice focuses on family law, criminal defense, immigration, business, or another area, you will meet clients who have been seriously hurt and need an experienced personal injury team. When you refer that client to us, everyone wins: your client gets the representation they deserve, you keep a trusted relationship and earn a referral fee, and we get the chance to fight for someone who needs help.
With more than 30 years of experience and over $1 billion recovered for clients, founder Ali Mokaram and our team handle car, truck, motorcycle, bus, and rideshare accidents, wrongful death, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, maritime and aviation cases, and more. We represent injured people in Houston and across Texas, including Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Arlington, Plano, and more.

Why Attorneys Refer Cases to Mokaram Injury Lawyers
Here is what we offer you, and the clients we will share:
- Generous referral fees. Your referrals matter to us, and our fee sharing shows it. Every arrangement is put in writing and agreed to by the client up front, as Texas Rule 1.04 requires, so there are no surprises when the case resolves.
- Case expenses advanced. Case expenses such as court filing fees, expert witness costs, and medical record retrieval are generally advanced by our firm. Your client pays no upfront costs and owes no legal fees unless the case results in a financial recovery.
- Proven results. We have recovered over $1 billion for clients, including $12 million for a client with severe burns, a $9.9 million confidential settlement in a work injury case, and $3.25 million in a FedEx truck wrongful death case with disputed liability.
- Serious and complex cases. We handle truck accidents, wrongful death, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, maritime injuries, aviation accidents, oil field accidents, and plant explosions, along with everyday car and motorcycle crashes.
- Customer service. We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serve clients in English and Spanish, and offer virtual consultations. The clients you send us will be well cared for.
- Track record. We hold a 4.9-star rating from 949 Google reviews and have been recognized by Best Attorneys of America and Top 25 Mass Tort Lawyers.

Referral Fees and Co-Counsel Arrangements
We pay referral fees, and we do it the right way. Every fee division follows Rule 1.04(f) and (g) of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, which allows lawyers in different firms to share a fee when:
- The fee is divided in proportion to the work each lawyer does, or each lawyer accepts joint responsibility for the representation;
- The client agrees in writing, before the referral or association, to the arrangement, including who the lawyers are, how the fee is divided, and each lawyer’s share; and
- The total fee is not unconscionable.
We prepare the written fee agreement and client consent, so the paperwork is handled for you. You can choose how involved you want to be: refer the case and let us take it from there, or stay on as co-counsel and work the case alongside our team.
How the Referral Process Works
Referring a case takes a few minutes. Here is what happens next:
Frequently Asked Questions from Referring Attorneys
Do You Pay Referral Fees In Texas?
How Much Is The Referral Fee?
Fee splits are agreed on case by case, depending on the case and how involved you want to be. You can refer the case and accept joint responsibility, or work it alongside us as co-counsel. Either way, the terms are put in writing with your client’s consent. Call 281-222-2222 to discuss the terms for your case.
Do I Have To Work On The Case?
No. Texas rules allow you to refer the case and accept joint responsibility for the representation while we handle the day-to-day work. If you prefer to stay involved, we welcome working with you as co-counsel. Either way, you hear from us at key milestones and can track the case as closely as you like.
Who Pays The Costs Of The Case?
Case expenses such as court filing fees, expert witness costs, and medical record retrieval are generally advanced by our firm. Your client pays nothing upfront and owes no legal fees unless the case results in a financial recovery. That means cost is never a barrier for the clients you refer, even in complex cases.
Will I Be Kept Informed?
Absolutely. We provide updates at key milestones, including when your client signs and when the case resolves. For referring attorneys who want greater visibility, our technology allows for detailed case tracking and reporting through Lead Docket, Lexamica, and/or automatically exported Filevine reports. You can stay informed throughout the case lifecycle, with the level of detail that works best for you.
Do You Accept Cases Outside Houston?
Yes. While our office is in Houston, we represent injured people throughout Texas, including Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, El Paso, Corpus Christi, Arlington, and Plano. Virtual consultations make it easy for your client to work with us wherever they live, and you can refer cases from anywhere in the state.
Can You Help Clients Who Speak Spanish?
Yes. Our team speaks English and Spanish, so your client can explain what happened, ask questions, and understand every step of the case in the language they are most comfortable with. We answer the phone 24/7 and offer consultations at our Houston office or virtually.
What If The Case Is Not A Fit For Your Firm?
We will tell you promptly. An attorney reviews every referral and gives you an honest assessment. If it is not a case we can take, we let you know quickly so your client does not lose valuable time, and when we can, we point your client toward other options that may be a better fit.
